Free EAS 201 Study Guide
The Educating All Students exam tests whether you can teach every student. This guide walks through all five competency areas and how to study each one.
1. Student Diversity in the Classroom
How culture, language, family, socioeconomic status, and community shape learning. Expect scenarios about culturally responsive teaching, bias, and building instruction that uses students' backgrounds as strengths. Cert-ified covers this in seven modules, ending with a written case study.
2. English Language Learners in the Classroom
Stages of language acquisition, academic versus conversational language, and scaffolding grade-level content while English develops. Seven modules, ending with a written case study.
3. Learners with Disabilities and Special Needs
IEPs and 504 plans, least restrictive environment, accommodations versus modifications, and the teacher's role in carrying out support plans. Seven modules, ending with a written case study.
4. Teacher Responsibilities: Legal and Ethical
Mandated reporting, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and fair treatment of every student. Three focused modules.
5. School and Home Partnerships
Two-way communication with families, culturally responsive outreach, and involving parents in decisions about their child's education. Three focused modules.
How the Cert-ified course is organized
The course has 27 original modules: six short lessons plus a written case study for each of the first three areas, and three lessons each for the last two. Every lesson takes about a minute to read and ends with a five-question challenge, so you can study in the time it takes to wait for a coffee.
Not sure where to start? Take the free 10-question practice test — it covers all five areas and shows you exactly which ones need work. For format, timing, and fees, see the EAS 201 exam format guide.
